"The birds and dogs were excellent, the guides were incredible and the food was spectacular. It was southern hospitality at its finest. But most importantly, the memories that I made with my son will last a lifetime."
- Greg Cook, M.D.
he eastern wild turkey is one of the most elusive and unpredictable game species on the planet. With eyesight rivaling that of a red tail, and hearing ten times that of a human, the concept of calling one into range seems ridicules. Here at Tumbling Creek our experienced group of guides sets out each spring to get their clients closer than they have ever been. We spend countless hours scouting and studying all of our 2100 acres in preparation for spring season. On average our guides spend more time in the woods alone looking and listening than they do with their clients during the hunt.
Our job as guides and callers is to get our clients on birds. That is our mission and goal, we dedicate all of our time during the month long spring gobbler season to ensure that each of our clients is always satisfied. We hope that not only do they enjoy the hunt, but come away with an appreciation of these majestic birds and what it takes to get’em close.
We have had a 90% success rate for the last four years on our mature birds during the spring season with our most harvested in the spring of 2005 of 34 birds. Availability is limited and spaces book up fast, so to be sure that you get the dates you want please book early. Our season starts around the first of April and runs into May with the peak periods being around the middle of the season depending on weather.
